God's Many Ways of Healing, continued...

Natural Healing
God gave our bodies the ability to heal themselves. It’s part of our
genetic code. Natural healing is the type of healing that occurs most
often. It is truly a gift from God, but most people don't even give
it a second thought.
Evidence for Natural Healing is found
in the Bible in Leviticus 13:18, 37 and Joshua 5:8. Over time the
body heals itself. Natural Healing is usually a slow process and it
happens over and over again throughout the lifetime of a person.
Medicinal/Medical Healing
Medicinal healing can be obtained by using plants, herbs and many
other substances God created for us to use. Throughout our existence,
mankind has done research and has gained wisdom in the healing arts
that have been passed down to us. Today there are doctors, dentists
and many other healing professions that practice medical healing with
great results.
There is a lot of evidence of Medicinal
and Medical healing in the Bible (2 Chronicles 28:15; Jeremiah 8:22; 1
Timothy 5:23; Ezekiel 30:21; Colossians 4:14).
Even though man is the one to carry out
this type of healing, God deserves the glory. He created the plants
and other natural materials necessary to develop medicines. He also
deserves the glory for giving mankind the intelligence, through trial
and error, to develop what is today medical knowledge that can help
many people. Unfortunately the glory usually goes to the medicine or
the medical practitioner and not to God.
Spirit/Soul Root Healing
There is an area of healing that is generally overlooked and that is
identifying the source, or the root cause, of the health issue. Many
times a health issue is caused by an underlying spiritual problem.
For example, shame, abandonment and rejection issues experienced in
life create the emotional scars of anger, fear, or sorrow that if not
dealt with, will eventually damage the body. The damage eventually
shows itself as symptoms which are usually treated by medication. The
root is never healed though. Getting to the root of the problem and
applying God’s love is the healing that is needed to make the person
whole again. This type of healing requires introspection into ones
life, repentance, and implementation of God’s Word to restore the soul
of a person.
Biblical Divine Healing
After natural, medicinal,
or spirit/soul healing attempts have not worked, many cry out for a
miracle, or supernatural healing.
All the glory goes to God for
Supernatural Healing because it is impossible for anything or anyone
to accomplish this except God Himself. Supernatural healing can occur
at any time or any place. God can heal in response to the prayers of
the righteous (James 5:16) in answer to the prayers of the elders in a
local church (James 5:14) or simply because God wants
to heal someone.
Yeshua’s miracles of healing are well
documented in the Bible, perhaps because so many of the diseases he
encountered and cured were considered a death sentence by the cultures
of the time. Yeshua’s healing miracles also tended to have a second
dimension which offered some insight into his character and his
mission as a whole.
Yeshua also made it clear through his healing that it was the faith of
the people that he healed that caused the cure. His words after
healing several people are the same; "through your faith, you are
healed" (Matt 9:22). Through this, Yeshua demonstrated that people
come to him through their own faith rather than through His
compulsion.

Healing
Release through Angelic Activity: John 5:2-7
Laying
on of Hands and Prayer by Believers in General:
Mark 16:16-18; Matthew 19:15. (Can the Lord work
through your hands?)
Yeshua did great miracles, yet He also
said that we would do greater things than these. Many of these
healing methods can be used by Believers today. Healing is for today
and it is for each person. However unbelief, prejudices and
presumptuous thinking must be removed in order for God’s healing power
to be able to flow to and through us.
Scripture Promises Healing
Many passages
enthusiastically promise that prayer will always result in healing -
at least for believers. Some are (verses in KJV):
Matt 21:22:
“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will
receive.”
Mark 16:18
“And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will
build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
John 15:7:
“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you
desire, and it shall be done for you.”
Romans 8:32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how
shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
What If We Don’t Get Healed?
But there are times when we do not get healed, or it takes a long
time to be healed. God does not guarantee healing for everyone
who believes (Job 2:2-4, 2 Corinthians 12:7). Sometimes He allows
sickness and difficulties in our lives. Through them we learn lessons
such as: our weakness and His strength (2 Corinthians
12:10, 13:4), our dependence on His
grace (Romans 9:16), our need for an overcoming faith (Revelation
2:12). Sometimes we must also suffer sickness and persecution (1 Peter
1:6, 4:14-19, 2 Corinthians 1:6). Trials are used by God to develop
perseverance and faith (James 1:2-4).
Many Believers testify to the fact that
it was in times of sickness and suffering that they were drawn closest
to Yeshua and learned important lessons of faith. Those are times
when people realize their own vulnerability and their dependence on
God.
God is our perfect loving Father. We
must remember He has nothing but our best interests at heart – in
sickness or through healing.
God Will Also Anoint You With His Power
to Heal
Not only does God the Father
want to heal you, but He wants to take it one step further! He wants
to anoint His believers with His supernatural power and use them to
heal others.
Yeshua, through the Holy Spirit is
placing the gift of healing as a major blessing within His Body so we
can have it available to us when we may need it.
God wants to anoint and empower His
people to be able to go to work for Him in preaching the gospel to the
rest of the world and making disciples. You cannot work for God full
force in this life if you are constantly battling sickness. You have
to be operating in health in order to be able to fulfill your specific
calls and duties for the Lord.
And He said to them, “Go into all the
world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is
baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will
cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up
serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt
them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
(Mark 16:15)
God wants us healed and to heal others. Here are some keys to keep in
mind for receiving healing as well as being used by the Lord to
deliver His healing:
Being Open—Not
Closed—A Great Key
We
must drop our prejudices against particular streams, styles, and
techniques. Let's not strain at a gnat and swallow a religious camel!
We Must Learn to be
Faithful
Be
faithful in the little we presently receive—stepping out in faith that
a greater increase of His anointing will come (Luke 16:10-12).
Let's Always be
focused on Yeshua
Let's
always be focused on our Lord and Savior, giving praise and honor to
the glorious Yeshua ha Mashiach, and lift up the One who suffered on
our behalf. Remember the lesson of Numbers 21:6-9. Whoever looked at
the bronze serpent upon the standard lived. Let us lift up Yeshua and
cause people to look to Him!
Ultimately, it is not
the "healing techniques or models of delivery systems" that bring
God's cure to bear. It is the person and presence of Yeshua as it says
in Matthew 4:23: "And Yeshua was going throughout all Galilee,
teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the Gospel of the
Kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of
sickness..."
Our God
is a living God!
Millions of people around the world
from all different backgrounds find miracle healing, forgiveness and
love through Yeshua in our day! What the Lord did for others, he can
do for us and through us.
