Sickness is a 'SYMPTOM!'
by Rose Martin

How would you like to feel BETTER as you get older instead of worse!?

It is possible!  You can protect yourself from the sickness and disease that cripple or claim the lives of so many people.  Good health should be second nature to us.  But for many people this is not the norm.

Over the years, we all have come to believe certain ideas about health and nutrition.  You may have come to believe that your body really doesn’t know what it’s doing.  Most of us are conditioned to believe that we are at the mercy of luck and heredity to determine how healthy we are now and how sick we can expect to be in the future.

You may think that you have little control over your own health – that you are destined to get the same diseases as your relatives.  In reality, you and only you are responsible for your own health.

Heredity plays an important role in how disease is manifested, but heredity doesn’t say you have to get sick!  Now, if you live in such a way that where your body has no choice but to get sick, heredity will decide which form your particular disease will take.  But you do not have to get sick!  You can live in such a way to remain healthy until your dying day.

It may be surprising to you to learn that your body really does know what it’s doing!  In addition, YOU have can have a major impact in your own health and well-being.  With the uncertainty of health care, skyrocketing health care costs, it’s even more important to learn how to take our health into our own hands.

Our bodies are amazing!

The Word tells us (Psalm 139:13-15) that we are fearfully and wonderfully made!  An intelligence far greater than us has been in charge of developing us ever since before any of us were ever born.  It is in charge of making sure everything ends up where it should.  The nose ends up where it should, our eyes are on our head and not our arms – we are not put together randomly.

And in addition to that, we are not cookie cutter images of one another.  Every one of us has a unique combination of color – hair, eyes, skin; we have different sizes and shapes.  We were knit together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13,15)

There is an inner intelligence inside of us that coordinates and synchronizes all of the functions of our complex bodies.  Through our life, cuts heal, broken bones knit, and hair and fingernails grow.  The body’s internal intelligence orchestrates these and thousands of other repair and replenishment activities without you giving them one single thought.  The same perfect intelligence that was there when we were conceived guides the body’s functions throughout life.  It keeps functioning moment by moment to keep us alive.

Just as our physical design was not haphazard, or accidental, neither are our responses haphazard.  Our bodies ACCOMMODATE everything we expose it to!  Just think of the all of the hazards it has to deal with, sometimes on a daily basis:  Physical trauma, drastic temperature changes, healthy food, junk food, no food, too much food.

When you’re cold, the blood-flow to the skin is restricted in order to preserve body heat, and involuntary physical activity is initiated to generate heat – you shiver.

When you’re too warm, your body revs up its climate control system; it sends more blood to the skin area for cooling and pumps moisture through the skin for evaporation – you perspire.

When you need more fuel to generate energy, messages are sent to your brain that you interpret as “hunger.”

When you eat something the body can’t use, it gets rid of it.

Think of it – anything that goes in to your body must be dealt with in some way.  Your body must use it, store it, or lose it.  Nothing can get ignored!
